Default Seal Driver Question

I have a set of Motion Pro seal drivers for 46/47mm forks that I have had for over a year and never used.

I'm wondering if I can take them to a machine shop and modify them to work on the 45mm Marzocchi's. Has anyone tried this?

If anyone has a set and could measure the inside and outside diameter so I can see if this is worth while.

Before you ask, I have already contacted Motion Pro to see if I could exchange them, they didn't act like they were interested. Of course if I still had a receipt or could even remember who I ordered them from that would probably help.

Thanks, Derek

You are probably better off selling the seal driver you have and buying a new one - the 46/47 is a fairly common one for recent model bikes. Tusk makes lower cost seal drivers - but it doesn't look like they make a 45mm - you might want to double check this. Rocky Mountain MC lists the tusk seal drivers for $39.

I know. I just can't stand the thought of losing money on something that I have never even used once. I have looked at the Tusk ones at Rocky Mountain. If I remember correctly they had them listed in their magazine as 45/46/47mm but looking at them online I see them listed as 46/47. For some reason I feel like it would be easier to stomach if I were to change brands though.

Update

I just got a second e-mail from Motion Pro telling me to go ahead and send them in. I'm happy.
