Default Limited edition Nambotin Replica

Saw this on the Go Fasters site. Sweet but probably never see it in the US.

Notice the smaller rear brake caliper?

Swing arm does not indicate motor type.
Mine says "two stroke motor", just in case I forget.

If you look close the swing arm says EC300.

FWIW -

In the past the GasGas factory has used a lot of photoshoping when releasing images of new products. Typically they use the same chassis photo and change the plastic color and graphics when releasing photos so some inconsistancies are possible. For instance a few years ago the same photo was used for the right side view of the 125 and 200, which of course aren't at all the same.

During this weekends Indy Dealer show we were told by the factory that the Nambotin Replica was drawing a lot of attention world wide and that the factory was limiting the production numbers to the original production run.

Originally the bike was intended only for France but apparently the rest of the world wanted in on the action and demand has out paced the numbers already produced.

I've ridden an original bike of Nambotin's and I can assure you that anybody that gets their hands on one won't be dissapointed.

Interesting that this version uses what looks like the ohlins shock with high and low speed compression damping over the sachs shock. So the Ohlins looks the same as the shock specified on older GG's and is now seen as an 'upgrade' or 'performance part' over the stock sachs shock...

I have to say my 05 having the ohlins/WP seems like a good reason not to 'upgrade' to a newer bike, though ride reports from most people seem to say they like the sachs though not necesserily better than the Ohlins...

From my last post the point I was trying to make is that just because the photo shows an Ohlins shock doesn't mean the Nambotin Replica bike has an Ohlins shock. I haven't seen the "build list" of what shock is actually on the bike so I don't know which one it would be.

In the past the factory bikes have always had Ohlins suspension front and rear as Ohlins sponsors those riders. That being said I also know the factory riders have been impressed by the Sach Boge fork and it would not be out of the question that the Nambotin Replica might have an Ohlins shock and Sach Boge fork.

As far as what suspension future GasGas bikes might have I wouldn't be suprised to see Ohlins available on some models as now that Yamaha no longer owns any part of Ohlins they may be able to provide competitvely priced shocks in a timely matter again.

The spec list states an Ohlins shock on the Nambotin replica.

I wouldn't be worried about Sachs suspension. The stuff is great. Ohlins can be good, but I still don't think it's the end all, be all of suspension. I'm still lusting over the 09 EC250 I rode in Greece. The suspension was awesome!

That said, if anyone wants Ohlins stuff, I'd gladly trade my ohlins off my 07 for Sachs stuff off an 09.

This is exactly why I will never sell mine. The bike is really awesome. I will keep it and just add a new one to my stable.
