Tools for clutch basket replacement
Hi guys,
Due to being short on time, I may have to put my new clutch basket in on the road somewhere. What tools do I need to replacement the basket and pinion on the crankshaft? I have the new basket complete with drive gear already riveted to it. Thanks, Steve |

I'd find a shop w/ an impact to lossen up the nut. Lay the bike over so you don't have to dain the tranny oil and swap in the good stuff.

Large "Channel Locks" to bend the tab over that nut-retaining thingy.

I have to remove the nut to replace my stripping kick starter. I have an air impact so taking off should not be a problem. But how about putting back on with air impact. Any words of wisdom before putting back on. The workshop manual states to use locktight. Any danger with using impact for this.

You should need an impact to take it off or put it back on. Use a clutch basket wrench and a torque wrench.
