Default Chain Guide - BRP vs. TM Designworks

My stock chain guide seems to be shot, but it just flops back and forth. It probably just needs new spacers but I was considering the BRP and TM Designworks chain guides.

Keeping in mind I run a 52T rear sprocket, does anybody have advice, pros, cons of each?

Thanks for the input.

Both accomplish the same thing. I personally use the BRP versions as they are a bit cheaper in Canada.

I got the BRP one also, its a nice guide. Perfect fit, not sure with a 52 tooth though.

i fitted a TM works to my 07 EC250 about 2 months ago. had to buy the bracket to fit the guide and ended up paying about $200 AUD for the kit.. so far its been great. quiet and super easy to fit. have not hit it hard on anything yet so not sure on how strong it is but so far so good!

I have ran both. The BRP unit seems to hold up better to rocks and abuse, although it did seem to wear a bit faster. The TM guide on my Honda became misshaped and looked beat up early in its life. I would order the BRP unit.

I have the TM Designworks unit. I have beaten it against rocks, clammed it into logs and slid down disgusting shoots with it. I even ripped the bolts out of it and it jammed into my sprocket and locked the rear wheel one time. It is EXTREMELY tough. There is barely any more than a couple of gouges in it. It still retains it's shape and continues to do it's job. I also have an LTR bracket with the XR guide lying in wait for the day that it is needed. I wish I would have had it before the TM went on because everything about it is less expensive, and less bulky, but the TM is so tough I can't bring myself to remove the poor thing.

Rod, what sized sprocket is that? My concern now is whether it will fit with a 52T rear sprocket.

If you can find an LTR bracket for an XR guide, a 52t is no problem. I'll be looking for another at new bike time, I can't say enough good things about this setup.
