Default Counter balancer part number

Can anyone on here dig up a parts diagram for a 98 gasgas ec250 for me, i need the balance shaft and gear. I currently have a 05 ec300 motor in a yz250f chassis that vibrates like wild. I would love to find a balance shaft that i could throw in a buddies bottom end that i can buy for next to nothing. His has been deleted years ago and has no balance shaft. Thanks guys
Keith

Nice project.
FYI. The balance shaft engine has different mounting points.

The Gas Gas Quads had counter balanced engines.
Here are your part #s.

You can't add a counter balancer in 2005+ engine ,because the crankcase is smaller .

You mentioned it is a 97MC? Is it a 4 speed, or 6 speed?
My 98 250cc started life as an MC, but, was changed to
an Enduro EC250 6 speed a couple years into it's early life.
It ran for years with out a counter balancer. Around 2004 or 5
I had Jim Cook of Smackover Motorsports install the shaft
and balancer.
Then in around 2009 or so I converted it into a SuperMoto.
A strange journey in the history of an old GasGas.
I have a .pdf file of the 98-99 motor exploded views with
part numbers if you would like it.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies. Crap, i hope its not a 4 speed. I just assumed that it was a mc since it had no balance shaft. Ill check it out tomorrow when i head out to the garage after work. Anyone have recomendations on where i can order a balance shaft. (I dont speak spanish or french lol)
Here it is at the moment. Looks like it had a oversized 250r piston but ill be butting a new jug on it since there is some issues with the current one

https://gasgas.com/us/dealers

Start close to where you live
and work your way out. Start calling.

There used to be a list of all the dealers in the US a few years ago
you could see on one page. I am sure a lot of those are no longer
in business..... They might be the ones you want to contact first.
The old'time GG business that might have vintage parts just sitting
around.
Try and PM Jim Cook here on GGRider. He no longer works in the
business, but, might have parts or contacts to connect you with.

Steve Marolda, of MotoWest in Anaheim Ca. was the dealer that
worked on my bike when it was new.... Phone: (714) 526-3234
He no longer deals in Gas Gas, but might have some parts on
a shelf.

Remember, there is more parts than just the balance shaft. Weight
on the left side and gears on the right.98cb.jpg

Good luck.
