Question Rib Protection

Hi Guy's

It’s been 4 weeks now since I crashed and smashed my ribs against a tree, yesterday I finally gave into the pain and my wife’s demands and went to the Dr's, cracked ribs, server bruising, cartilage damage and depressed lung & fluid retention in lungs.
This is the 5th time I have done this over the last 6 years and let me tell you at 50 years of age it hurts harder and longer.

I have tried three different armour types, Dainese, Troy lee body suits & Fox Roost 2, all these offer good front & rear protection but I always seem to get hit in the side were there is no protection . Has anyone got any ideas for me?

I recently saw a rib protector used by Go-Kart riders, I was thinking of using one of these in conjunction with my Fox Roost.

BTW- Love my 250 Gaser, however hate the power valve rattle!

If you are really having rib issues you could try something like this:

That looks awesome.
Does anyone have one ?
How long do they last and are they very much different to wear than say a dianese armour in terms of comfort and heat?
Cheers Mark

The problem with those rock garden and 661 full body set ups is the zipper down the middle. Its the weak spot ... you get a rock in your chest right at the zipper .... busted sternum. happend to some due on one of the forums I frequent ... he went back to the old school CP. that rock garden unit looks like it has some serious rib protection though!!

I currently use lacrosse rib protection under my Acerbis Koerta body armor. I've broken ribs twice and it sucks.

I just ordered one of these Zoombang shirts which I found for 1/2 list price. If you Google Zoombang shirts check the images you'll see all kinds of different padding options. They will even make you a custom shirt.
