How are you guys loosing clips due to wear? Don't you guys check your bike over once in a while? Seriously.

Clip for me. I have never lost one, worn one out, or broken one.

Ive never lost a clip either. I still carry a spare though.

As per my last post. The pins and clip on the master link sit out further than the rest of the chain. This leaves them a bit more exposed to wear and damage, particularly if you've gone to a harder compound TMDesignworks guide, which also sits rather close/rubs in its stock position with their mounting bracket.

If everything was in perfect alignment, and you never got your chain guide caked up with mud and grit, sticks and rocks, etc you'd probably never have an issue.

Clip.....never, ever had an issue with the clip style masterlink.

I use TM Designs buffer and block on my YZ.
OEM style buffer and TM Designs block on my GG..

clip. but my dad has us put some silicone on the clip. he says it was a regulation for when he raced on track.

why? how would silicone stop the clip coming off

We put it on top of it. The silicone can flex enough where it does not tare.

No idea what is in the picture, i just searched the web. But my dad does buy regina, there is also a different brand but he can remember. He did this for any motorbike he ever had so i plan to do the same.

I do the silicone trick with the countershaft sprocket clip too.
