Default Boot damage

Hey guys, been spending alot of time on my 300 now that cooler temps are here. i was cleaning up my gear the other day and a pretty good chunk of my rh boot on the bottom is gone....The only thing i can think of is i am clicking the rh peg every time I kick it. the 300 has the smallest kick lever I have ever seen, and it is no problem to start, Just wondering in anyone else is having this problem. I have read about the yz250 kick lever, just have not found one yet.
The bike is a blast.... I ride with a guy on a 4st and the 300 will out grunt that thing anyday. And I love the light weight.

I lost the kicker on my 06 300 and just got a yammie kicker from gofaster today. Nice looking unit that appears to give you more room on the downstroke as far as that peg is concerned. I was always extra careful kicking with the stock kicker. I'll give you a ride report the next time I kick it over !!

I had the same problem on my '01 XC300 where my right boot sole was badly chewed up when it hit the footpeg on the kick downstroke.

I installed a YZ250 kickstart lever. It is way better than the stocker.

In '06 GasGas markedly improved the stock kickstart lever. I like the '06 GasGas kick start lever better than the YZ250 version. There are some GasGas riders that prefer the YZ250 kick starter.

A few other points...

You can avoid the boot damage if you modify your kicking technique to always keep your toe pointed out when kicking.

The kick start fasteners tend to loosen over time. Always lock tite the kick start fasteners and keep them tight.
