Default Assembly from crate, how involved?

I am reasonably mechanically inclined and have done all the basics like oil changes, air filter changes, valves (four stroke), removing suspension, changing coolant and bleeding brake lines. Will that pretty much cover what needs to be done on a new two stroke if I buy it in the crate?

Greg

I haven't been fortunate enough to buy new, but if I did I think I'd prefer one in the crate.
You've got to (should) go through and check that everything's tight and set it up for yourself anyway, unless you've got a good dealer near home that will take care of you.

No problem, I assembled two GGs and a Husky from crates. Bars, front wheel, pegs, front fender. Add oil and fuel, and change coolant before you ride it. No lines are broken. The quality of the GG crate is not that great (cardboard box/skid bottom), so make sure you are covered adequately by the shipper. If its being re-crated and shipped by a dealer he can do a better job. A Husky all wood crate by comparison could do flips and the bike wouldn't budge!

Question

My new GG250 came in a crate that contained a large piece of cardboard that had YAMAHA printed on it. That got me major ribbing from a rice-burning friend who went with me to pick it up.
