Red face GasGas EC 300 Spark plug

Aup lads,

Just bought a 2001 GasGas EC 300 and it has a huge midrange flat spot. At first it struggled to get through to the end of the gears and stuttered etc. But after putting the needle clip on the leanest position there was slight improvement. It currently has a BR8EG spark plug in. I was told by the local bike shop that in their manual it says to use the iridium BR10EIX. Could this help the flat spot or is a BR8EG fine to use?

Thanks lads

I use that plug with no problems. 2006 300

Switch to the Yamaha yz250 needle (search this site for info). It will make a big difference 2nd clip from top of needle

Read up on the jetting database

I switched to the iridium plug and it was worth the extra $ in my case. Although my jetting was pretty close to spot-on, the iridium plug just cleaned it up a little more.

I'd stick with the 8 heat range though. Either ES, EG, or EIX..
