The South Okanagan Dirt Bike Club (SODBC) held a Poker Run two weekends back; we had 90+ (mostly local) riders, of which I guesstimate that there were ten on '06 and newer Gas Gas EC300s. So the news is getting out.

Also, Mike Fetterer and crew are excited about a September ride, and will be happy to lead the fast into an adventure in the local area (Penticton/Naramata/Summerland).

So all is still looking good.

Dale

Well, gas is curently $5.45USD per US gallon up here in B.C. So there's some chance you can still make it.

Question

Is there any possibility of renting 2 bikes for this ride? I live in central Tennessee so it's impractical to drive up but my riding buddy is a pilot for American Airlines and can get free plane tickets. We're both in our early fifties, he's a B level rider and I'm a C, he rides a new KLX 450 and I ride an 07EC250 Gasser. - Ken

I will be in. I get back from Europe on the 21st so I don't see any reason why I can't make it.

No idea on rental bikes - maybe some people have spares? If I still have my 01 EC200 you're more than welcome to ride it, but I'm trying to sell it at the moment so I really don't know if I'll have it in September.

The Gasgas dealer in Kamloops might let you rent bikes but you would have to look into it.

Here are the dealers in Kamloops or near

Thats about all i could find for you.

So, I figure we should start firming up details. I head out to Greece in 2 weeks and won't be returning home until September 22, right before the ride.

Dale, where's the best spot for us to camp?

When do people plan on arriving? I'll come out Friday afternoon/evening (depends when I get off work) and head home Sunday night. I may or may not be bringing a friend or two with me (non GasGas riders though).

We also need a final participation list:

-me (steve)
-2 strokes 4 life
-d2w
-mountain thumper
-reverup
-nick
-jeffd and Les?
-roostafish
-PEB
-anathema
-cladoo
-Mike Fetterer
-Brian Dingwall
-Jean Leberg (gasser rider from vancouver that I talked to)

Others not confirmed:
-cactusreid
-Dave Fair, runner of GasGas Pacific (I'll try to get him up for the event)

Not sure who else?

I'm stoked to finally put some faces to the names.

It's a longshot that either Les or I will be able to attend. But gonna try to make it and I will do my best to drag Les (of LT-Racing) along with me...

Just double checking - for U.S. citizens traveling to canada - no passport required til summer 2009 and a drivers license is okay? I have a passport, but Les doesn't have one...
