Default Ohlins Shock

I have an 08 DE300. It has the Sachs shock on it.
I can't come to terms w/ the shock. It's OK, just not great.

Does anyone know if the Ohlins shock off my 07 TM EN300 will fit?

Doubtful.

Get the shock revalved by Les @ LTR and you will be much happier with it. It is a good shock. If you do feel the need to get an ohlins - I have a nearly new one listed in the for sale forum.

The Sachs is great when valved to your liking. I know for a fact that Fred Hoess preferred the Sachs when he was with GG.

Here's a quick review I did on another site.

Quick comparison between the 07 TM EN300 and the 08 GG EC300.
I ride mainly single track, the more rocky and technical the better.

Engine TM – The bike hits hard. Extremely fast. Loves to be on the pipe. Way too much engine for a novice rider.
I have nothing but confidence in this motor when attempting hill climbs. One of my favorite hill climbs is a fairly
long and steep hill w/ not much of a run @ it. The last 10 feet is a vertical cliff that requires you to jump to the top.
The TM makes this look easy. Much more so than my 4 strokes.
Engine GG – Initial power was too soft everywhere. I put in the LTR jetting kit and this woke the bike up.
The power is now near perfect.
Overall preference – GG, because late in the day the TM has no mercy.

Suspension TM – I weigh 160 – 165. Ohlins front and rear, completely stock. Best suspension I have ever ridden.
Typically Factory connection and Stone Works does my suspension. Bike stays planted. Rear shock is just magical in rocks.
I can ride this bike through rocky terrain, up on the pegs, and very rarely get a surprise.
Suspension GG – Not enough time on it yet. Marchozzi front Sachs rear. Forks seem busy, and can't come to terms w/ shock.
Overall preference – TM @ this point.

Overall handling TM – this bike just flat out handles. Suspension and turning is incredible.
Overall handling GG – very very good. This bike turns like no other bike I have ever ridden. It’s like it’s reading your mind.
Overall preference – too early to tell.

Brakes TM – bike came w/ oversized rotors. Best stock brakes I have ever ridden.
I’m VERY VERY picky about my front brake and usually have to make some mods.
Brakes GG – good, much better than KTMs. I put on the Galfer wave rotor and the front is good, just not quite TM good.
Overall preference – TM

Fit and Finish TM – everything top of the line. Not crazy about the seat, but I’m 6’ 1” and had to make a Guts tall seat work.
Fit and Finish GG - everything top of the line. Rear brake pedal looks cheesy. Seat seems to work for me. I may add a tall seat.
Overall preference – toss up.

I truly believe I will like the GG better. The TM is an absolute incredible machine, but getting after market parts is a pain.
Skid plates, seats, radiator guards, etc.
