Default Dumb question- 2009 EC 250

Is it my imagination or are 2009 250's rare as rocking horse poop? Was 09' a super low production year or something?? Every post about the 250's seem to be related to early 2000's or 2007 in particular seems like a year that EVERYONE has. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Be gentle, it's my first GG and my first 2t (off-road anyways) bike in 20ish years!

LOL

Not sure about the production of the '09s, but we have an '08 in the family (brother-in-law's bike) and I haven't seen any posts about the '08s either . One of the folks with more experience needs to comment, but I'm pretty sure you'll find lots of similarities from '08 through '10; probably further back if you're looking at motor stuff.

If you're not finding something with search, don't hesitate to post in the sub-forum; the folks on here know their stuff. I know I've pestered Jakobi more than my fair share getting 3 bikes jetted...lol.

Funny

You've got a great bike. Really not much has changed motor wise over the years. Yes, '09 was a bit of a transition year as gasgas worked on the '10 which had some pretty big changes with suspension, plastics, etc. If I remember, gasgas didn't import a lot of '09's and they were late in arriving.

I personally like the '09 with the white and black plastics and graphics. Everything else should be pretty similar to the older bikes and they last forever so no worries there.

Any pics?

Mine is all black/red?? I took the stickers off... I like to keep a low profile. Here's what it looked like pre-removal:

Wow! Sweet looking bike!

Looks loaded and pretty clean.

Really same bike as '07 and '08. Maybe just six days edition came in white and black.

Should be a very nice bike for you. Nice find.

Hmmm, I hardly see anything here on the 2010's. And even less on the 2010 4-strokes.

The '10's were so sweet looking with the black and red combo. There's quite a few out there, but seems like a lot of guys waited for the new '11 to come out with the new frame.

'10's got great press and really good reviews including the 250t. That seemed to be right around the turning point for Gasgas in terms of becoming more well known and with the '11 things took off in popularity with more media exposure.

I really wanted to try the 250t because I had a '07WR250F for my son at the time and I rode it a lot and love that little bike.

You really cant go wrong with any of the Gasgas with the exception of maybe the 400 and 450's with some quirks on early models.

I ride a '03 and it has not problem running with newer bikes.

We're probably only a small percentage of actual GG owners, and we're spread so far geographically that it makes it hard to know whats what and where and all that.

I only jumped onto the Gas Gas in 2010, which is when the learning started. From what I understand since 05 it has just been annual updates refinining the same bike.

I think 07 may have seen a revised subframe.
09 got a new headlight
10 saw changes to the water pump cover and rear brake caliper with slimmer rad shrouds and side panels, and introduction of the B frame.
11 was the same as 10, but changed front fonder and headlight
12 saw some major changes
13 refined on 12 again
14 worked on weight savings

There will be more that I haven't listed but thats about it.

Depending when the bikes were available from the factory, who the importers were at the time, how the economy was, and so on etc probably plays a big part in how many bikes are floating around in your area.
