2002 ec300 stuck in 6th?

A fella I ride with was out the other day and his 300 is now stuck in 6th gear I wasn't out with them and havnt seen the bike so I don't know if the shift lever is moving free or if it's stuck solid but he's lookin a hand work at it. Would any of you have had this problem or know wat could b the cause thanks.

Do you if it wouldn't downshift from a lower gear, and he shifted it up to 6th, then it wouldn't return. Open the clutch side & check the actuator and spring...otherwise, bent shift shaft? I just resolved a similar issue. It was a 10 sec repair, with a 90 min disassembly & reassembly.

My mates 2011 300 did this and the weld on the selector shaft had sheared right off
