New tailframe vs. old

Hi ,

I have an EC -06 and once in a while thinking about updating the "halfbike" with new tailframe package . Is it worth of it ? can you feel any benefits when you ride or is it more the newer "looksy" you get ?
Is the basic mainframe geometry still from 2005 ? or have they change something radically ?

It makes the bike feel flatter. Its also a lot stronger. You can also skip '07-'09 and go right to '10-'11 plastic if you want. If your planning to keep the bike for awhile its a good thing.

The hand holds are way better on the old style though!

That's true! But, if you get the under fender light/plate assy with the hand grabs its not bad, especially if you do not run the Stealth silencer.

I have a tugger on the rear of my 07 seat, works nice. Is the 10-11 handhold aranement the same as my 07? Like Pete mentioned the old one worked way better as a true hand hold.

PEB, did you buy your tugger or did you custom make it? I have an 07, and have been looking for one, or thinking about making one.

What about the old pipe and silencer do they fit without modifications ? what about the frame & rake ? are they still the same from 2005 to 2011?

Pipe fit is the same. You will need an '07+ silencer, of bend yours to fit, I've seen it done. Rake on mainframe has been the same.

If I wanted to upgrade my 2000 ec300 what's the newest year tail section I could upgrade to and would I also need the newer tank?
