Default Hp of a 2002 ec 300?

Hi guys im looking to do my bike licence when im 21 in may. Untill i am 24 i will not be allowed a high powered bike, at 21 the limit is 47hp so im wondering what kinda hp the ec 300 puts out? im sure its abit more than 47 maybe 50?

Could i get away with using insuring ect the bike on that licence as its not a very well known bike around here and i cant find any specifications for hp torque ect?

We just dyno tested my son's 2004 EC300 and it made 41hp at the rear wheel. If they have the hp limit the engine it may be closer to 47. If the 300 exceeds the limit you could get a 250. Then if you want more power you can either put on a 300 top end or upgrade the 250 engine to make more power and they will never know.

What a truly dreadful road bike. Buy a real road bike. I love my 300, but it's a dirt bike and no more.

I was amazed how smooth the ride was with the road tire on it before I took the 300 to the Dyno. Then again the chain noise ......

200 or 250 is plenty powerful for laning and they are all a pain to ride on the road so why go for a 300?

From my research I did I think the 300 is about 51bhp
It might be worth your while down sizing to a 200 and just tune it up a bit.
