New member, buying ec300
This sunday im going to buy a nice clean 2017 ec300. I ride 90 percent woods and currently ride a honda cr 250 honda cr125 and husaberg fe400. Was dead set on a sherco 300ser until this bike came up. Biggest concern is parts availability. I see pro x makes a good amount of parts. No one seems to make a linkage kit or aftermarket plastics. This bike has 70 hrs on it i will probably freshen the top end. Also the current owner said he got the bike new with kick start only no e start. Is there an accessory kit? How much? Im getting the bike sunday will post pics then. Thanks

I have a 2015 Gasser 300 and it is pretty bullet proof and really a woods weapon point n go . I have the electric start and still kick it most of the time so do not worry about that . Good luck and enjoy it .

I ride a 2015 EC200. The '17 models are very similar to the '15s. They are good bikes, I like my 15 very much and have invested quite a bit in it (suspension etc) and am planning to keep it for at least one more year. Now it has passed 200 hours and no problems so far. I have replaced the piston twice. The chassis suits me well.
The '17 is the last of the previous generation Gasgas, and considered "old fashion". Hence, lower value. I have little experience with the current ('18 and '19) bikes, but they are generally considered to be better, more modern bikes. The quality is OK, and the price of these bikes is (and will be) considearbly lower than the new generation. I have never had any problems getting parts. The only thing you may experience as a problem is parts for the Marzocchi forks. Seals and bushes are readily available, but other internal parts that are unique to that fork may be a problem. But if the Marzocchi isn't serviceable anymore (in a few years time), a KYB fork swap is pretty stright forward.

Plastics are available from Polisport, and Wossner and ProX are making pistons. Linkage kits are just off the shelf bearings and bushings typically from your local bearing supply shop, or you can get them from GasGas. I know LinkageWorks is making a kit for the 18/19 bikes. Not sure if they have one for the older stuff. Parts are actually very easy to get. They just take a little looking around. Good luck with the bike. You're gonna love it.

I had a 07 /11, and a 14 200 they were all good bikes . Bought a 19 beta 125 sinc e Gasgas did not have a small displacement bike . It has had a clutch issue from day one . My Gassers were tuff I sold all of them local because I know they will hold up .

The 15 and 17 models were the exact same bikes. They are solid machines with decent suspension and a great motor. The 18/19 model bikes have completely killed the value of the older generation bikes which means you should be getting a great bike at a REALLY low price. I sold my 2015 300 last year with 75 hours on it for $3500 if that gives you an idea of what you should be paying. OEM parts are not an issue at all. Aftermarket parts are limited but they are out there and widely available through about every GG dealer in the country.

Lot of consumable parts CR250. Woosner pistons are good but you won't need one for years,
All balls do bearing kits for everything.

I bought the bike sunday. 2017 EC300 still has original tires on it. 4600$ for a bike 2 years old with hardley anytime on it seemed like a great deal. Heres a pic. I did notice the radiator hose on top of the left radiator going to the nipple on the frame is rubbing through. Anyone have a pic of brake hose routing near that hose? Is it supposed to go through the loop welded to the frame? Also the guy gave me a wossner piston new in the box and a complete gasket kit. Also has a spare pipe and jd jet kit. Seems a little lean down low though. Thanks,

Nice bike! My 2013 has been very reliable and durable overall. I have been able to source most parts I?ve needed (mine was a bit neglected when I bought it) from gasgaspartsguy.com
My bike came with some PoliSport plastics and I have found some replacements online. My biggest issue has been finding complete wheels for my bike. Other members here have been instrumental in helping me locate parts and shops for suspension and engine components, as well as resources to have new wheels built. Enjoy your new ride and feel free to ask around for help. Lots of knowledgable members here!
