CLUTCH probem 2010 ec250 6 days 2t
Help please,
I have a clutch that won't fully 'engage' , by which I mean it won't stop the bike 'crawling' forward when in gear and the clutch lever pulled in. I have changed all the disks (metal & fibre) and new springs - all OEM. Basket looks ok. but it doesn't appear to have made a difference. reservoir at lever is full and lever 'pull' pressure is quite hard. I have adjusted the lever to the point there is hardly any 'play', and the drag gets worse when bike is hot. I change the oil every 3 rides (10-40 w) Any ideas please? |

Your hydraulic system is not bled of air properly, therefore you are not acheiving adequate travel in the slave cylinder to fully DISENGAGE the clutch. Trapped air bubbles compress with pressure from the master cyl rather than the slave moving.

I had that crawling forward prob on my 03 EC300.Turned out to be a short bolt holding the slave to the casing. It worked ok till it stipped out the couple of theads holding it down, then started creeping.

Thanks a lot fellas, I was convinced there was no air in the system by the 'stiff' lever, I'll try bleeding it this weekend.
cheers |
