Default Finally pulled the trigger

New to me 2011 300ec. I'm pretty pumped. Haven't rode a dirt bike since 2004ish.

It was an 89 cr250r. I loved that bike, the smell and the sound.

You will love the bike! Make sure that you tighten your kickstand bolts and get a longer throttle cable(and safety wire it at the carb). I love my 2011 and I just bought a 94 CR 250 to restore.

Just bought the same bike, 2011 EC300 a few months back. It had been about 10 yrs for me also. Love the bike! Rode 30 plus miles this weekend and the kickstand lost a bolt and the throttle cable slipped out at the carb. So definitely take the advise given. Great bike, have fun and enjoy!

After changing the fluids draining the old gas and going for a quick rip around the yard yesterday it seems the petcock fuel on/off/reserve is leaking a bit. Best just to order a replacement or is there a quick fix for this? Also should I go riding if it is leaking a bit?

Petcocks are a very simple valve with usually just and o-ring or two inside to seal it. You should be able to pull it off (screws on the face), clean the seal surfaces and rings then put it back together. Unless the o-rings rotted for some reason that should do it.

Not too good an idea to ride with it leaking there, although hard to do it could turn your bike into a bonfire.
