any trick to draining the gas on these bikes?
I'd like to drain my fuel from the float bowl after each ride but I'm not sure if there is a trick or what? Seems too tight for a wrench to get to it.
2002 xc300 btw |

turn the petcock to "off" and just tip the bike all the way over, almost to the ground. this will remove liquid gasoline, but it can still varnish, the only other way ive heard is to take the carb off.

Or turn the petcock to off and keep the motor running until it stops.

do you not worry about leaning the bike out by doing that? I mean, starve it of fuel and oil?

Nah, not at idle, hardly needs any oil.
