EC 300 2012 VForce3 Reeds
Bought Gasser a month ago and I'm trying to get familiar with 2T technology. Having problems with idle, I have pulled out carb and reed cage..There should be one crankcase gasket and one rubber gasket according to the parts list but I haven't found any!? I could try to make it myself since I can't find it on Ebay, but don't know the thickness of the rubber one. Or should I put it back and pretend I didn't notice?

I'll double check mine for you..
I have checked the parts listing and see the rubber gasket listing.. Part ME250644105 I think it is just lost in translation and not an actual rubber gasket.. just a different shaped cardboard one. Thickness isn't too much of a concern. There is room for a spacer in some models as well. Quite often the gasket will stay attached to one surface too. Got any pictures? |

EC 300 2012 Vforce3 reeds
Mr Jakobi you were right about the Part number. I have attached the picture but there isn't much to see, I have found only traces of some grey sealant on both sides of reed cage and no gaskets. It seems I'm gonna make two gaskets as a first aid and try to find genuine. By the way, is any visible gap allowed between reeds and reed cage?..I'm asking because of the problems that I have with idle probably caused by air leak (mentioned in my post in Technical forum). I am "new kid on the block" here but it has already became clear to me that jetting is the key word in 2T (and may be power valve has some influence). So I'm trying to establish basic settings as a good start and appreciate the support from all of you guys.
Spring is in sight and I hope my Gasser will be as ready as I am for the riding season. When you are 65, there's no time to waste. |

Hi John R B, unfortunately, there is no Parts warehouse in AZ or Parts guy in PA..actually there is no supplier at all in my country and that's why I am forced to bother you guys more than usual.

No time to waste, then let's skip to your real problem. The stock N1FE needle needs to be replaced. There is heaps of threads here.

Well, here is what I have found in my Keihin PWK38 AS: pilot #45, main #170, needle NOZI (position 3rd from top), throttle valve slide no6, mix screw 1 turn out. As I said, no experience with 2T, I own and ride KTM 525 exc. My impression is that Gasser pulls well but I really haven't had a chance to test it on wood trails yet. Some guys on this forum are recommending N3CH needle and various pilot and mains, once I fix that high idle problem, I'll be ready for the jetting. In the meantime, I'll be reading posts and your kind suggestions.

exman, there shouldn't be a gap in the reeds, they should be tight, no gap.
