Rotella or other cheap tranny oil
Does anybody use rotella or any other cheap tranny oil? I am going to try rotella. I change every 5 hours anyways. Also rotella T4 is JASO DH2 MA MA2 certified so it should be fine for a wet clutch?

I've been using T6 for years. If it has the correct specs then run it, it will be fine.

Another cheap option, ATF Type F. Any no name brand will do.

I find ATF a bit too thin and Rotella T6 a touch thick. While this will make some member's heads explode, we have been mixing 50/50 ATF with T6 for years and it has worked great in 8 older GG bikes.

I run Rotella T6 in my Yamaha FJR1300 and change on 5000 mile intervals. I add about 1/4 cup (to the 1 gallon the FJR uses) of STP oil treatment and the bike shifts like silk. I ride 2 up 95% of the time and tow a Bushtec trailer with it. No clutch or power delivery issues ever on the bike. I am over 56,000 miles on the clock. The cams show no wear and look good at each valve check.

I have a gallon of T4. It is 15w40 and I don?t think it is full synthetic. Will I be able to use this with short oil change intervals or should I ditch it and get T6?

Try the T4(regular oil) and see how your particular clutch performs. If you like it don't waste your money on T6(full synthetic). I've had six gassers and the clutches were all different - some did fine on the thicker T4, some worked better on the thinner T5 which is a semisynthetic, and my 07 gasser had to have T6 which is the thinnest viscosity of the three to keep that clutch from dragging.
