Default probs with 04 ec250 shock

hi,i bought an ec250 earlier this year for enduro and im finding the rear shock way too soft, ive just come off a yz125 for the past 12 mths after a break from bikes for ten years (im 36), the bike i have has the lowering kit on the linkage , im 5 10" and it sits way too low for me, but the main prob is it feels way to soft( i can cover ground faster and with less effort on the yz) it just seems too wallow on any setting, the previous owner had the back end serviced not long before i got it so is this how they are stock? any help appreciated as u can tell i have v little knowledge on suspension etc

There are many threads in the suspension sub-forum regarding rear settings and spring rates.

What is your weight and whats your current spring rate? There should be a printed article number on the spring, which tells the spring rate. Whats your sag numbers and spring preload?

Put the OEM 122mm pull rods back in and go from there.
