Default 2012 US Race Models Spares Kit

A couple of dealers have told me that some customers have gotten the idea that the 2012 US Race models will come with the spares kit like the 2011s did. This is not correct. We decided to leave off the spares kit for a few reasons:
The kit adds about 300 Euro ($410 at the current exchange rate) to the cost of the bike.
The factory sometimes seems to have a hard time getting all of the parts in the kit which creates a lot of follow up issues for the factory, dealers and Go Fasters.
The orange company does not offer a kit like this and we need to stack up as close to them as possible. If a dealer forgets to explain to the customer that there is a spares kit then we will look like our bikes are much more expensive than theirs. It complicates the whole sales process.
So....If a dealer tells you the 12 does not come with a spares kit, he is correct and it was our decision to drop it. We hope you guys understand the reasoning behind the decision.
Clay

[QUOTE=Ud_luz;72272]Spares kit? What was in that? I never got one.[/QUOT]

The 250 and 300 Race models came with a spares kit,
It contained a spare top end and gasket kit, 50t Supersprox sprocket, air filter, brake pads, clutch and brake levers. ONLY the Race models.

I purchased an 07 EC300, not the race version. It's been an excellent bike so far except for the dreadful 45mm Zokes. I also apparently got one with a bad carb and finally replaced it with a new AirStriker. It works perfectly now.

I'm pondering picking up the '12 and keeping the old one for places I need plates. I'd be hard pressed to believe they could make the new bike that much better than the really stellar 07.

Will the new EC have the 2k3 ignition? I had to replace my 2k2 on the 07 for lights.

Good move from a marketing standpoint... unless you're a dog-nutz racer, of course.
