Default Best Way to Drain Out Gas

Just got an EC200 that was mixed way too rich and need to drain out the fuel. Never done it before. Any help on the best way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ben

I'd get a longer piece of fuel line or hose and connect it to the petcock to carb outlet nipple and drain the old fuel into a spare container. Place the petcock on off when switching up hoses and reserve to fully empty the tank.

I don't know of any easy way to drain the float bowl on the carb, if that's what you're after.

For draining the tank, do as nknudsen suggested, dead simple. Make sure to stay with the bike and gas can during the operation, as you don't want the hose to accidentally pop off and drain gas and oil all over the garage floor, with the gas evaporating and the oil remaining as a slippery residue, with the stink enveloping the entire house and having your wife and daughter mad at you for a week (or two).

Or so I've heard, of course.

The easy (non eco friendly) way to do it is to lie the bike on it side and let all the fuel run out of the carb breather
