2004 300 ec idle setting ...

What is the best way to up the idle on my 04 300 ec. It now stalls off the throttle and desending while in gear witch does my head in .....

Do you do it on via the cables or screw on the side of the carb ?

The large plastic/brass screw with the spring behind it is your idle speed. It manually lifts the slide. If you find the spring is bound up and its already turned in almost all the way then its likely the needle/pilot circuit is rich and thats the cause of the stalling.

Yes the spring behind the screw is coil bound. How do i rectify the problem ?

Should i drop the needle 1 notch ?

Best advice I can give is to pull the carb down and have a look at whats in there now. Then you'll have options on where to go. Also, check the sticky jetting database in this subforum and see what others were running in 04 models. I've got no first hand experience with the earlier years so aren't much help in that regard.

Ok will pull the carb this weekend. I know jetting has a lot to do with sea level as well so id say im at 0-500 feet.....
