What damper? If Scotts, chances are a top clamp with the correct dimmensions exists. Look how to take the measurements. Anything is possible.

As with any damper, you have to make sure the rotating shaft is directly over the center point of the steering stem.

The Scotts damper's mounting bolts are on the center line of the pivot shaft.
That means that with the damper centered over the steering stem, you can figure out where the mounting bolts need to be.

On my MC the handle bar clamps have two positions, one is almost on the center line, the other is perfect.

yes, i am familiar with installing a damper - if you're not familiar with the checkpoint triple tree it's kinda hard to explain. the checkpoint triple tree has no mounting holes for the bar risers. it uses a stepped system to allow adjustment fore and aft of risers. very nice actually. BUT they didn't plan for damper mounting at all...........

going through the measuring process with scotts. the problem of course is i will lose all adjustability - and probably have to change the stabilizer arm on my scotts to something longer...

You should not have to change the arm. As Girard said, the center of the damper pivot must always be centered on the steering stem, so what changes is the location of the holes in the top bar clamp/mount. The only reason to change the arm length is if you change the tower design to increase the offset from the steering stem center.

I'm familiar with the checkpoint clamp, its like an Oberg Sports clamp with the locking lugs/slots. All you have to do is select a position that you like that Scotts or BRP has a top mount for. If its a problem, you can make your own. I sold my submount(too high), went back to a top mount and made a simple, custom mount plate that I use with my OEM clamp and Bike Bonz handguard mounts. This could also be used with two piece upper bar clamps.

Fastway a while back that had a damper mount that had/has slots,, so if your clamp did you could change the mount too.. I have one from a honda with one of those oddball upper clamps.. I'll try to post a picture later.. I have to run out to the KTM shop,, again.. just for a post for my gpr to mount to my sxc.. hoping my 17's dont feel twitchy after...
