Default 2014 prewired for speedometer?

My 2014 300 came prewired for a speedometer. The harness is just sitting there. So my question is do I just need to buy a computer? Is one of the rotor bolts magnetized? I guess I am looking for advice as to what I need to buy/install to get the speedo function working?

Also, what is the OEM model? Trail Tech Endurance II?

Default Trail Tech

I just installed an Endurance II on my 14 200 and have nothing but trouble. It worked for a ride or 2 then sent it back. The Manufacturer supposedly fixed it but after one ride it's not working at all. Going to go through this one more time, then trash it if I have any more problems. The sad thing is they have good reviews. I may have just bought a lemon. Best of luck to you.

Rob, how was the install? is it plug-n-play? Hope your next unit is flawless!!! I've had trail-tech units in the past and they've been solid units.. Thanks for chiming in.

Trying to revive this. Just picked up an endurance II and trying to figure out how to use the existing wiring.

Hi ,
Installed a Trailtech Endurance2 on my 2014.Just plug n play. All the correct connections were behind the headlight & the magnet on the front disc was already in place. But as we all know, not all models in the same year are the same.My experience with earlier endurance models hasn't been good so hoping I get better life out of this one.

OEM on my 2013 is unstable , and will go nuts and lose all info.
Now zip tie a Garmin quest to bar pad.
Gives speed, distance and time moving / stopped,

Biff

Are you guys powering them from the bike? I just use the internal battery. Been on there 2 years and so far no issues at all.

So I was able to find more information. Some bikes are pre-wired, some have the hole in the rotor for the sensor, some come with the sensor, but in general the wiring harness has the power adapted.

Upon closer inspection, mine is pre-wired and has the harness already to go, I just apparently need a bracket to mount the sensor to the hub.

If your bike came with a magnet installed on the rotor you should be able to just screw the speed sensing cable into the threaded hole in the bottom of the front brake caliper holder. Nice and neat.
My 2014 Factory Replica came with the pre-installed magnet. It has the simplified race wiring harness though with no pre made speedo hookup. I have just been using the internal battery and it has been great. I could splice into the running light wiring if I really wanted power from the bike.
