Default How do the Factory boys do it?

I was wondering if anyone has seen any tech articles on how the factory boys (Dougie Lampkin, Cole Kirpatrick, etc.) set up their bikes and what is stock and what aftermarket parts they run? I have see similar articles in Dirt bike and MXA on pros bikes but nothing on Gas Gas.

The factory guys are "paid" to run their sponser's products. So, obviously those are the best products to buy .

Go to any race and look at what the rider's are using. The guy that buys his own products wil give you better feedback.
Dirt bike forums are a great source for info. Post a question and people will chime in.

Gasgasman you are correct...

once upon a time I was given everything...some I wore and/or used because I like it(but took the stickers off), others I just put up with it....

What aftermarket "stuff" does a GasGas really need

I've ridden a fast guy's bike. It didn't work as well for me as my bike does.
I guess that's why I'll probably always be a B rider.

B rider! That's how I chose my user name brider; get it? I was a steadfast B-rider in my racing days in Michigan. One time after I moved away after college, I came back to visit and went with some old buddies to their Sunday MX race. They loaned me gear and a CR125 and I won the C-class that day (one of my buds was racing in the B-class), then later I did the same thing, but they goaded me into racing the A-class; I got my ass roosted on all moto!

I'm sure I won't ever race again, but I'm looking forward to riding the EC 300 I MIGHT buy!

The fastest guy I've probably ever ridden with is Jeff Ferdette, it seemed as if laws of gravity didn't apply to him. His bike is bone stock with addition to a rekluse. I'm sure the pro guys have things tweaked to their likings, but the days of "works" bikes and stock bikes being from two different worlds, in my opinion aren't as common as they were- say 25 years ago.

We have a few Team GasGas riders in our series and their bikes are very much stock. No different from any other bike setup at our races. Just bars changed out, suspension valving, tires, some use core EXP's............

Stephen Edmonson rides the most bone stock bike I have ever seen!
When we were in Spain, I was ver surprised at how stock Cervates' bike was.
It had a Rekluse clutch cover. I don't know if he was running the EXP in the manual or auto mode. Everything else, even the chain guide appeared to be stock.

I can say Stephen Edmonson is VERY fast and so smooth it's a pleasure to watch him ride. Our club sponsors one of the races he runs and watching him go through a swamp, creek, and up a hill without even slowing down as the bridge crossing was jammed with down riders was a real treat. BTW he went by so fast I couldn't tell he he was modded or stock LOL.
