FWIW my 1997 KTM 250 is on it's original lower end and gearbox. Motor has never been opened up. I just change the original clutch plates ONLY because I'm installing a Rekluse auto clutch so I figured why not. 2 pistons and a few sets of rings and that's it. The bike is ridden hard and has been raced. Yes, roads are not the 2 strokes forte and I am not a 4 stroke hater by any means. Excellent maintenance practice goes a loooong way 2 or 4 stroke.
After re reading this i agree, no malas intended.

IMHO I love my 510 for open terrain...and I love my 300 for the S/T stuff.
and well the 280 is just plan fun and stands in a class all by itself.
If i lived where there is hills and mud and could afford two bikes i would have 250/300 gg.

Dont know about this mature adult stuff

thanks buddy i knew it would be a great thread cause 2t and 4t owners just cant help themselves being bias, at the end of the day it only matters that we all support gasgas whether it be 2t or 4t
thanks jim australia
