Default Old rider, new to GasGas

First off, this is a great site and resource for GasGas owners. Just bought an '08 EC300 and was wondering what was out as far as selections for silencers? I want to be as quiet as possible, thought I saw a picture of Justin Williamson's bike with an FMF Q2 on it, but I'll be darned if I can find a listing anywhere. Anybody know if they are available? Anything else out there? Thanks.

I don't think the new FMF Q2's are out yet.

Welcome to GasGas and the site!

The FMF Stealth may be available now. Call Go Fasters and talk with Mark or Steve for ETA.

It was supposed to be ready the end of February and it'll be the quietest you can get.

FMF now has the Stealth Q2 listed on their website and supposedly in stock. Part number is 025110, '07 to '09. Now of they will just answer my question on whether it has a Krizman or screen type spark arrestor.

It's NOT a screen type I know that so I assume it the Kritzman style. Good to know they are available now.

Thanks for the info, FMF doesn't seem to like to answer inquiries about their products. I'll order one and report back.

You are very correct about this. I sent them many e-mails about building the Stealth silencer for the Gas Gas bikes and never ever heard back from any of them. I figured if I bug them enough maybe they will build it. I also called any # of times speaking with various different people (kids?) and got various clueless responses to finally one guy who actually seemed genuenly interested/concerned and said he would speak to the correct powers in charge about possibly getting it made. Ultimately I spoke to Dale from GG USA and he said he would ask them to build it. I also asked Go Fasters to push FMF to build it. Kind of an all out attack to get it made so we at least have the choice to have the quietest 2 stroke silencer available for the GG bikes. I will be getting one as well. From what I read they will drop the sound to 87-89db range and now motor and other resonating noises become more bothersome than the exhaust sound.

My buddy had one on his 300XC-w and it was VERY quiet, about as quiet as my 300 with the KTM hockey stick on it. And yes, it was in the 88-89db range using the SAE 1287 testing criteria. I ordered one yesterday, we'll see what happens.

Finally got ahold of FMF and the "kid" I spoke with informed me the Q Stealth does have a screen type spark arrestor. Not sure I want to hassle with a screen in 2 stroke silencer, so I cancelled my order. Going to talk with my buddy who has one on his KTM 300 and see what he says.
