HA HA - didnt know you were a member on here buddy !

I think me and a friend are attacking the system Monday night. Going to strip apart and start again i think. If that fails for 100 odd Euros im just going to buy a new system if i can. Its not worth my time messing around with it any longer if both caliper and master cylinder are available for around that price. Ive emailed the Motorcross centre late Friday night. Just awaiting an answer.

See you when your back on dry-land, and we can get some practice in for 'this upcoming trip'........

Its just a nissin banjo bolt. No special year/model. I believe its the removing of the switch itself that gives the improvement.

Correct. Which is why there's not much hope for us guys in the UK who are required to have a front brake light to be road legal.

I was bored and all caught up on my pre-ride maintenance for tomorrow's ride, so I decided to tinker with my spongy front brake. I have bled it (starting with a bone dry system) before and had no improvement, so I just figured that I was stuck with lots of lever movement (1/2" from the bars) for marginal braking.

I have a KX250 parts bike for my '01 EC300 so I robbed the banjo bolt from the KX master cylinder and swapped it in place of the "switched" banjo bolt on my 300. It took quite a bit longer than my other bikes to bleed, for whatever reason, but I eventually got it and took the bike out for a spin around the neighborhood.

The front brake now has adequate stopping power with 1 finger and will easily pull a "stoppie" with two fingers. I'm not real sure how changing the banjo bolt could have that affect, but I had heard of other people doing it and having the same results so I'm glad I tried! Hopefully it stays that way! I'll report back after my ride tomorrow.

Just wanted to update: I rode almost all day yesterday on all types of tight singletrack, fast quad trails and whooped out wide open stuff and the brake still feels great! The brake feels much like my KTM and my old CRF in that I never have to use more than 1 finger, or worry if I'm going to smash the other fingers when braking hard. Best value in brake system upgrades ever... FREE!
