Default DIY rewiring for higher wattage

I have a 2k ignition and was thinking I may want more power. I also have an XR650R and did a rewire myself thanks to help all over the net, but haven't seen any way to do it on the GG. I have not even looked in there to see what room we have, but I assume you do. Has anyone done this? I may have to find a doner old ignition to play with, anyone want to help? Will of course share what I find. I am sure someone on here is better than me, but so far no one has stepped up.

This thread has the most information on this
subject that I can remember being posted
to GGriders.org
http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1859
Links to floating the ground and doing a re-wire of the
stator.
Since you did your XR650R. I'd say you have the
skills to duplicate that with your 2K2.
I did the floating ground mod to my 2K3, but, did not
re-wire it for more wattage or voltage.
Unless you have the wire and the time. It might be
easier to buy one from TrailTech already soup'd up.
then again, I am pretty lazy.
