Default Scorpion Racing Radiator Frames and Skid Plates

Anyone using Scorpion Racing's rad frames or skid plates? How is the fit and install? They look like real quality pieces.

Yep, I have their GG Skid Plate. Install was snug but good, skid looks and has been so far completely indestructible.

Kurdt, The Scorpion skid plate is the way to go, although a little work needs to be done to make it fit the new frame. I'll check tonite for the exact length of bolts and spacers needed the one sent will not work for the 2010 frames. If you contact Scorpion themselves. They will send you the right ones. I gave them the new measurements needed. I also had to notch the front a bit for the exhaust bracket.

I've got a scorpian on my 08 cr 125 ... they were one of the few companies that made on for it. build quality is excellent. if they made one to fit a gas gas I had and I needed a skid plate I'd get another one

Got the skid plate and the rad guards/braces for my '07 EC300 from Scorpion. The bike tumbles over/under/through a lot at McNutt on my weekly rides and the guards do their job admirably. Fit & finish perfect - easy and solid install.

I only had to pull the right wing back away from the water pump once after a hard get-off into some river boulders. The guard never contacted the pump cover, just got closer. I pulled it back so it could do the deed again without bending in even further.

Prior to the scorpion guards, I was running a Hyde combo. The Hyde lasted one season before it fell apart at the pipe and lower mounting brackets. The scorpion is on it's second year and still going strong.

Kurdt, If you end up getting the Scorpion Skid plate.

Call Steve Vander Helm. Owner of Scorpion Racing Inc. Tel: 604-490-2128

He'll send you 4- 45mm bolts and 4- 30mm pvc spacer. with your new plate.
He might even have made up the package with the new stuff already in it.

Not sure where he is on his new Rad Guard/Brace. Last I heard he was working on a combo.
Can't wait I'm sure it will be the best one out there when finished.

Good Luck

What do the pvc spacers do? are they simply there to protect the bolt threads?

The PVC spacers are there so you don't inadvertently warp the plate when snugging the bolts up.
