CF Pipe Gaurd Backing

So I bought a P3 Carbon Fiber pipe guard. There is a piece of buffer material near where the lower mount is, I want to add one near the upper mount. The material is kind of like weaved fibers glued the guard, I'm thinking fiber glass but it has been a long time since I have seen any. I guess it doesn't really matter what it is exactly. Looking for some recommendations on what to get and where that will not melt/catch fire.

it is probably a heat resistant fibre material (previously made from asbestos) something like pyrotape would work but might be a bit of overkill
