ECU gurus???

Ok....does anyone know what the difference between a Magneti Marelli IAW 15P and a Magneti Marelli IAW 15M is??? I have found out that my ECU is dead in my 450FSR, it is the 15P...but cost is $600...but have located a 15P for $200. Just wondering if this is a programming thing?

The 15m has 2 ignition firing modules and is generally used on 2 cylinder machines It works in closed loop mode with a feedback loop. Your version of the 15p has only one firing module and works in open loop mode. It is possible that with your program chip it will work but the board (15M,P and I think W) are the same circuit board with major hardware differences. Some also have a immobiliser built in. None are a straight swap. The nearest I have seen in the USA is one that fits the Aprillia Atlantic 400 scooter but I have yet to get one cheap enough to buy and check out.
