I read the original post requesting some solutions without buying or doing a bunch of engine work. So I did not mention it.

I do not have an e start. I will say the weight is the same diameter as the flywheel and it totally bolts on to the outside between the cover and the flywheel. it does not go around the circumference at all (Like a Stealthy does)

Mark at Go Fasters said that the FWW will not work with the Estart. So I guess my first option will be the G2 Cam and go from there. Unless I decide to let go of the estart. Which seems like so far a huge headache to swap out.

Thanks Jakobi

I dont want to start messing with gaskets etc. The jetting is spot on and I really dont want to start figuring that out. I spoke with Mark at Go Fasters and the FWW will not work with the Estart. So that leaves me with the G2 Cam for now. The trails we have here are very very tight and rooted and rocky. This is a huge contrast to growing up in SoCal and riding high desert. I am looking for a similar roll on to my 450. Not power, just the roll on control feel.

I can relate to your goal. Since this GasGas is the smoothest 2 stroke I have ever had I'm seeing how close I can get it to a 4 stroke-Not that I have ever owned one I know I'll never get the over rev but how the power builds continues to improve.
So I was running
Stock cylinder, pipe, and squish (1.9mm), NEDW 4th (Yes this is rich but ran fine and filled in when the Power valve opens) 50 pilot, 175 main when the temperature was 30 F. Ignition soft, heavy FWW, Rekluse, Shortened silencer 4 inches This was really quite good. I have a lot of miles on this set up

I had another head from my 05 that was done for that bike. So I put it on my 2011

Stock cylinder and pipe, 1.6-1.7 squish , NEDW 2, 48 pilot, 172 main, 1mm power valve shim, FWW, Temp 50 F, Shortened silencer 4 inches, Ignition soft and hard (Funny thing is I liked the soft in the open when I was always running in the upper revs but in the single track I went to the hard so when I wanted to clutch it and go it responded faster-I am a 2 stoke guy) After 60 miles I think it is better than my last setup.....Time will tell.

For those non GasGas owners reading this- this thing really hooks up. I am just screwing with it more than anything. I enjoy the chase.

I had Trey at Wildcat Motorsport mill the head on my KTM300xc. Maybe I can see what he can do with the Gas Gas. Unless other people have someone else they would recommend. I just hate messing with jetting once it s dialed in. I have little time to ride as it is.

Default G2

It works very subtly but it helps . I used it on 250 & 300 with good results for me

Milling the head might help if you drop the compression some. Generally the biggest improvement will be in terms of efficiency, and it'll reduce any low rpm burbles. This will make it crisper and more responsive, but also smoother I guess. I don't have much experience taming them down. I've gone the other direction, with shorter gearing, a worked 250cc engine, and a G2 quick pull with .25 cam.

Thats the problem, there are no low end burbles. The bike is a fire breather right from the get go. It was owned by a long time Gas Gas A level rider. I am going the G2 cam and bigger rear sprocket and see how it feels from there. This is only for the winter than we head the desert and mountains for the rest of the season.
