Yoshimura Factory Suzuki Every Sunday Bike Rebuild
Here is a cool video about James Stewart's Factory Suzuki Race Mechanics. What do you think about this rebuild process?

When you start with a clean platform, all the spares, proper tools and you've been doing this type of work for as long as Lee has, I'm sure it is second nature.
I would think that all grease areas use very limited amount of grease, just enough to get by as the bike is torn down weekly and regreased. Unlike us "normal joe's" who hate servicing linkages, steering steem bearings, ect, were in it for the long haul.

Unless I missed it , it did not mention an engine rebuild. Some team mechanics have to throw a full engine rebuild into their schedule EVERY week, they completely strip the motor down, replace a bunch of parts on reassembly. The engines rotate on a two weekly schedule.
I used to do this stuff in road racing, the good old days of the mighty 2 bangers :-) |

Do you think JS7 says, "Thanks, guys" after they're done?

They showed the tech pulling the motor out of a box.
It may come from Japan already built. |

Sure, they probably have an engine recycling program with a few of them making the rounds. Lots of cleaning, makes it easier to look for cracks no doubt. Guy was washing that frame like it was his dog!

And I thought I did well just to wash mine and clean air filter after each ride....sheeeesh
I do actually take wheels off every second ride and regrease wheel bearings though....Ive never replaced a wheel bearing yet. Although Ive never kept a dirt bike for more than two seasons either..... |
