Default Using 2007 + Plastics on a 2005

I believe there was a thread on this I saw some years ago but can't find it, what's involved, my '05 needs new plastics I'm trying to work out what else it needs if I updated, I fear it would have to have a subframe and seat as well?

Same bike, same situation, same questions. Maybe we'll get a discount for 2!

07-11 subframe, airbox & seat are different. Shrouds should bolt right up... Pipe is different but you can keep the old one with a minor tweak (I did that on my 06 transformation) I believe the silencer is also different but some have used the early silencer with some mods

There is a long thread somewhere but it may have been archived.... some info here http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8741

The shrouds and tank and pipe and silencer can all be made to work. You will need to get a new subframe, air box and seat to run the rear end, an upgrade in my opinion that makes you bike as good as a new one.

What's the advantage of the new subframe? Sits a bit lower maybe?

Do you know if the "new" airbox is enclosed and quieter? My '05 has a pretty good intake howl.

I never noticed an airbag 'howl' on my '06. The subframe is required for the later plastics to fit

I think its just cosmetics, aka a deceiver, like a push up bra.

It's slimmer, likely lighter and stronger. It also make the bike look like a newer one, at a fraction of the price

I have a line on a brand new 2014 airbox. Does this mean I need to match a 2012+ subframe and seat, too? Or will anything 2007+ mate with the airbox? Any suggestions or deals on a source for whatever seat and subframe I need, fellas?

Thank you

I have a whole kit I attempted to graft onto my 05 EC125.

I bought it from GreensomethingMX in Spain.

It didn't work out for me, and I would be happy to part with it. The only damage done was some greasy fingerprints on one of the lower fork guards.

Subframe, seat, all plastics, head and taillights, graphics.

I think all the parts are for a 2012 EC250.
