I find 70-80km/hr comfortable enough with 13-50 gearing (on my last 3 gassers). For me it feels like its sitting where it's just coming onto the pipe.

Trying to ride at 100km/hr feels like it's neck is getting wrung a bit.. But if you hold it open there's certainly more to be had too.

Depends on what you ride. Most of our higher speed 80km+ sections are just transport between the fun stuff. With that gearing 1st is quite low if needed. 2nd gear is short enough to start in for pretty much all but the nastiest.. 3rd - 5th will stay on the boil and easily lift the front wheel under power, and 6th is still there to cruise along or will also lift the front with some technique.
