Hi there. I'm fixing up a mc250, or so i thourght, looking at a 2003 manual i seems that the engine oil filler bolt would indicate it is a 125, how do i find out what and from when the gasser is? Is there anywere i can cross reference the vin/engine number and find out.

There are a ton of clues on the bike like part number on pipe, vin #, engine is a totally different casting than the 200-250-300 casting.

Its a 250 he posted a pic of the bike here http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17866 post #7 also has EC25 stamped on the engine.

What makes you think its a 125?

The oil drain and fill bolts are the same size and small inside diameter is only 1/4 inch or so.

Thanks Elvis, could only find a manual for a 2003, but it seems that besides the plastic that they are more or les identical. Any body know about the tight gear shift?

The gasgas gear box is tight and shifts very smooth.

Most parts will be the same from 2000-2005 on the 200,250 and 300.

With that air box boot and plastic mag. cover my guess is it's a model year 2000 and it's not a 125.
