Rob,
Don't bother with 45 Zoke parts. The uppers are prone to wear if the clamps are too tight. Plus, the KYB uppers will not fit in the 45 Zoke clamps. Start a poll on who has what and what they would like to do for an upgrade. Also look at ebay and see whats available, that should give you an idea. If the KYB cartridges are available separate and cheap let the Sachs guys know. |

I am ecstatic over my KYB SS on my 2011. I am amazed how well they work compared to my 45mm Zokes. My wife just bought me some Flexx bars for an early birthday present, always wanted to try some, not sure if I will see any benifit with my new front end.
If fitting KYB internals into a Sachs outer works as good you should be very pleased. ED Quote:

I should have just done the KYB swap to my '07, still might. Flex bars are awesome! My 48s are not what you would call plush, you feel the small stuff. Thats OK though because they do not do anything bad and are stiff enough for the faster, bigger hits on the hare scramble courses. The Flex bars take the edge off them and it all seems to work out.

Ed,
I'm running the yellow compression and red rebound. This seems to be what just about everyone here has settled on. While I was evaluating the fork I ran red compression as not to skew my interpretation. These things are like steering dampers. You don't neccessarily feel them working, certainly not moving, but you notice when you get back on a bike without them. I've taken some big hits, and between the fork and these bars no problems. Also, get the BRP pivoting handguard mounts, don't screw around with anything else like the Cycra. |

I ran into an unseen issue. The damperod strome os too long and so is the sach lower tube.
I have more measuring to do and redesign the insert adaptor. Rob

Rob,
Thanks for the continued effort. It goes without saying that there are many of us out here that love to tinker, like some "custom" touches on our machines and want them to really meet our expectations for performances. Unfortunately, many of us also don't have the expertise and equipment to pull of some of the more meaningful mods like you are currently working on. Thanks a million and keep us posted. BTW: I have your X-Bushing on my orange bike and love it! Highly recommended to any forum members that may be hiding an orange bike on the side....
