Matt,
I bought it from a dealer, who said it was a dealers edition demo bike.
I'm happy it's a real EC with the heavy flywheel. I trail ride and the MX 2T bikes are a pain for this purpose. My old bike was a 89 RMX250, sold it and a TRX250R to add this 300 to the stable.

Regarding this EC vs DE thing, doesn't the EC also have a much quieter muffler but no spark arrestor? I like QUIET bikes but need the SA for the USA. I am sure a spark arrestor of some sort can be grafted onto the end of the EC model. I also like the stronger lighting output. If you ever ride at night and have used the typical wimpy 35 watt bulb and then tries something like the Acerbis DHH, you would want the greater output as well.

I'm pretty sure the new DEs are coming with the same Euro silencer as the ECs. In the past, when FMF pipes were standard, they came with FMF Turbine Core silencer S/As. Until someone actually gets one though we won't know for sure.

I recently posted a small review on my 07 ec 300.I had stated the bike ran clean and smooth, but seemed slower than my 05 DE.I had always ran the LTR jet kit in previous 300s.I decided to install the kit in the 07.All I can say is WHAT A DIFFERENCE.It is the euro spec EC,but power and rip factor aint a problem.I switched to slow mode and power was the same, but seemed to erase the 2 stroke hit.Very good for slick off camber stuff.I can say the bike runs flawless now.Tracy

Tracy,

Do the '07s use the same air filters as previous, or are they new to work with the new quick change airbox?

Do any other number plate backgrounds/pre printed #s fit, or is it make your own? Thanks.

Did you get the Euro muffler or a US spark arrestor? My benchmark for noise would be any of the KTM 2 stroke's with the so called hockey stick muffler SA. How quiet would you say your bike is?

Plastic is different.I ordered backgrounds from Powersports graphics. They have the rite backgrounds for 07.The airfilter is different also. Not sure what would cross reference it.Silencer is non sparkarrestor euro. The bike is quiter than my 03 or 05.I have had some riders say they couldnt hear me behind them at all. They were also on 2 strokes.Tracy
