2011 Ohlins Shock seal
My bike hates seals I guess. Is there an updated or better seal then what came stock? Who do you all recommend I contact to order a new seal?

I don't usually have issues with the Ohlins seal unless there is a scratch on the shaft- so I polish them when they come in for service.
Although it's worth noting that the seal head spec'd by GasGas is different than the normal seal head from Ohlins... Once my site is back up, I'll put some pictures up for you. |

One time a few years ago, Les got a batch of bad seals from a supplier. They were standard X rings substituted for the correct metric part. They were a hair tight, and would work for a ride or so and roll the lips over. Took a few replacements to figure it out. Where are your parts coming from?

One of the internal seals in my ttx rear was messed up when I had my last service. On a side note my ohlins shock came from the factory low on oil(from what my suspension guy told me).

The suspension guy may or may not have replaced the seal and I know he uses ohlins products. The shock started leaking early on since brand new. I think I had 3 rides on it and it leaked. This has been problem for awhile. I just sent it in for service and kept riding.
However, I am going to start doing it on my own now, just like I do my other bikes since I am no longer sponsored. $150 for a service job is too much for me right now. Got kids in baseball and martial arts, it's killing the play funds. |

Its just a metric xring, I will not quote size because I am not positive at the moment. Should be able to source a quantity quite cheap. I beleive they are the same size as used in the Ohlins/Scotts damper, and I have a bag of those.

The Scotts damper orings are quads at 15mm. I haven't been able to find them in the US other than from Scotts. I'm picking up bags of 100 next time I'm in Europe. Although one time, in a pinch, I put a Penske oring seal in an Ohlins shock. Years later I think it's still holding up... |

And to answer your original question, I've got some at the shop. Feel free to get in touch if you need one- or want the whole seal head.

I stand corrected, this was in the older Ohlins with the hand adjuster rebound knob.
Dave, I have a bag of those 15mm quad rings, had them for years for damper service. Try APG, o-rings online if McMaster does not have them. |

McMaster doesn't.
I'll try APG. Thanks. |
