These are some settings I worked with. Not saying they're right for you though! The first setting is where I am now, the others are different people's recommendations including standard. My settings WILL be very different from standard because I am running 0.46 springs up front and a 5.7 on the rear.

Rear shock:
Rider Sag 105-110mm
Static Sag 25-35mm

Clicker starting position.
Rebound 15 clicks out from full in or max rebound (mh & std = 18 from in) (LTR 14 -16 out)
Compression 2 clicks off full soft (mh = 16, std = 20 from in) (LTR 17-19 out)

Forks:

110 - 120 mm air gap

Clicker starting position.
Rebound 10 clicks out from full in or max rebound (mh = 6 std = 12 from in, LTR 10 out)
Compression 6 clicks off full soft (std = 12 from in) (LTR 17 from in)

Thanks a lot, now I have something to start from!

Just have to wait another week to get riding though as the doctor decided to remove some unnecessary bits and pieces from my throat

Hey there, I have a 2011 ec250 Marzocci forks and an Ohlins shock. I'm running stock springs and weigh 150lbs. I'm struggling finding a good dry "no grip" set up on the forks. The shock can be made to hook up but the front end feels on top of the ground in the corners, almost shovey. Any suggestions?

Default New XC 300R :-)

Just picked up a new XC 300R from Mort's Powersports in Mobile, Alabama.
John the owner is a great guy and has been very helpful trying to help me get the bike dialed in, I have had the bike for 2 months and have put 10 hours on it. I will be riding mainly South Alabama Woods, Tight, Technical, Roots, Sandy, Hills and mud. I am 40 years Young, I have only been back riding for 1 year after a 7 year break, I raced in SERA Southern Enduro Riders,
in my late 20s early 30s. before that I rode alot but not raced.
I am 6ft 200 lb
South Alabama: Hot, Humid, Sea Level.
So far:
Main Jet: 172
Pilot Jet: 40
Airscrew: 1.5
Needle stock in the top clip,
Slide; stock
Fuel: 93 octane 100% unleaded, (no corn) 44to1 Golden Spectro.
Took a minute to get it lean enough. Seems to have good crisp power all the way through the power curve, rain setting. Still has alittle spooge but atleast I know there is lube.
Suspension seemed very ridgid at first, bounced in the rear over roots and square edges, divey in the front end going into corners.
Changed back tire to Michilin sc12wc (much better than stock)
backed off rear spring preload 2 turns, low speed compression 16 out,
rebound 20 out,
Front Forks: recieved with pfp all the way out. I Turned in 1.25 turns,
Compression 16 clicks out, Rebound 14 clicks out.
Seems alot better than stock but i like it soft and plush. I will call Evan at
Solid Performance, when i am ready for service and revalve, Hopefully he can help me plushin it up.
Allso moved bars to forward position. Cut 3/4 inch off both end of bars and added Cycra bark busters, Mounted light switch inside front number plate.
Love the 300 POWER, I can leave it in 3rd and work the clutch.
Bike Really promotes standing.
Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

@ 90kg geared up, I am thinking of getting 4,3 or 4,5 Ohlins fork springs & 54 or 56 Ohlins rear spring.
The bike 2006/ec300 currently has a 58 rear not sure what's up front. I was told by the dealer the last guy that had it was about 115kg.

What difference can I expect from 4,3/54 compared to 4,5/56?

Hi all. This may have been posted but there's a lot to go through on this thread I. Looking for any info on setting up a 1998 ec250. Ohlins rear. Zoke 44mn front. Prevowner had heavier springs installed. He's about 250 or so lbs. I am 203 out of the shower I they should work. But is the standard 100ish mm sag for rear applicable? What about front? And clicker settings? No racing. No track or large air. I am a backwoods single track rider. Rocky British Columbia single tracks.

Just put 10mm of preload on your shock spring and try that. Always seemed to work great on the older bikes with the ohlins shock. The owners manual has good set up tips for the clickers. It can be found on the GG web site.

I seem to recall that I got to eat lots of ice cream when I was recovering from that surgery. So there is a bright spot there.
