My 300 came with an N1EF and the CCK was smoother so I was wondering if it works well in the 200. The other complicating factor is that currently it's fitted with a 36mm instead of the 38. When moving down in carb size what jetting changes should I expect to need? Currently it runs ok but not spot on. There is a power hole in the midrange. Not sure if rich or lean, I suspect rich. I guess dropping the needle a notch will soon tell me. It pulls then goes flat in the high midrange and then picks up again on full revs. |

Yes have a look at their site to REALLY get your head spinning. I find it very interesting to compare the GG and KTM's in jetting as they seem to be quite similar with the same sort of issues.
The KTM 200's came with 36mm carbs for awhile also and most seem to be using a #6 or #6.5 (KTM weird thing I think) slide. The guy Jersey Devil over there really knows the 200's so look at allot of his posts. There are others as well but he comes to mind. There is sooooooo much info your head will hurt after awhile. I'll have to try the CCK in my 07 300 and also the N3EG? that Pobit recommended. Skidad |

I thought it worked really well. Smooth but with no noticeable power loss.

Bike year & model = 2002 EC250
Temperature (degF) = 10 to 30 deg C Elevation (feet) = 1900-2600FT Main jet = 178 Pilot jet = 42 Needle & notch = LTR #3 Air screw setting = 1.5 Throttle valve/slide = 7 Result: Mid is a bit rich but bike runs way too hot with the needle in #2 position. Bottom end is great.

Bike year & model = 2005 EC250 Temperature (degF) = 68-104F (20-40C) Elevation (feet) =2600 (800m) Main jet = 180 Pilot jet =40 Needle & notch = NIEG 2ยบ from top Air screw setting = 1 turn from closed Results: The Brazilian gasoline has 25% of alcohol. So this is the best we can. -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bike year & model = 2005 de 200 Temperature (degF) =62-95 Elevation (feet) =1500-5000 Main jet = 172 Pilot jet =42 Needle & notch =LTR, middle notch Air screw setting =2 out Throttle valve/slide =# 7 with power-now(this cleaned up jetting from top to bottom) Results:wide open jetting is easy, the transition from the basement to the mid was difficult. Technical terrian requires(from me, anyway) great jetting from idle to 1/4 throttle and the power now mod combined w/pilot and air screw being just right was critical. Poor idle was handled by cutting a little off a the spring on the idle adj screw. I know it is "primitive pete" but it works. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Bike year & model = 2004 EC200
Temperature (degC) = 5 - 20 Elevation (feet) = 0 - 500 Main jet = 180 Pilot jet =45 Needle & notch = CCL #4 Air screw setting = 1.5 out Throttle valve/slide = #6 Pobit recommendation and spot on. Smooth power and torque no holes no surprises. Very pleased much better than previous jetting which was the more common 200 setup in the UK. |

Bike year & model = 2002 EC 300
Temperature (degF) =12c-38c Elevation (feet) =0-1000 Main jet = 180 Pilot jet =40 Needle & notch = N1EF 3rd clip Air screw setting = 1.5 Throttle valve/slide = #6 Was running a 38 pilot but had moments of it running 'surgy' when hot, idle would waver a bit. Now pulls hard & consistent off the bottom, smooth strong mid & a 'holy shit batman' top end. |

Bike year & model = 07 EC 300
Temperature (deg) = 15-30 Elevation (feet) = 0-1000 Main jet = 180 Pilot jet = 42 Needle & notch = n1eg 2nd from top Air screw setting = 1-2 turns out Throttle valve/slide = #7 Results : Very smooth right through the rev range no bogging or flat spots. Heaps of low to mid and mid to high range power( right through I guess). Stock except for fmf powercore2 muffler. |
