Default 2003 Sherco 200???

I am looking to purchase a trials bike to for our family to "play" around on. My boys are 13 and 14.5 and they ride KX100s or EC200 and DE300 depending on the terrain.

I found a 2003 Sherco 200 and was interested in your thoughts on this bike, what is a reasonable price and is there anything I specifically need to watch out for.

Thank you

On ADV Rider is a very active trials forum with plenty of trials knowledge.
Price is based on condition and your location (supply and demand).
Here in central Pa that would be a $1500 - 2k bike.
RYP has anything you would need for that bike so no issue there.
Good size for the kids and also a rare find...not many 200's available.

Thank you for the input. Anything specific or out of the ordinary to watch for on those bikes?

Just ride-em.
Pretty basic bike.
Service the linkage a time or two a year if used much.
80:1 with a good synt oil, low flash temp oil best. They don't run that hot to burn a high flash temp oil.
5-7 psi up front / 4-5 psi in the rear.
Go have fun.

Default Changed horses

While we were looking at the 2003 200 the owner also had a 2006 290. The owner is a great guy and he let both boys ride both bikes for more than a hour. When all was said and done, the boys liked the 290 better and it followed us home. It is amazing how much fun it is to go slow! We can even ride it in our small back yard and since it is quiet we don't upset the neighbors.
