I grew up in SoCal riding desert, but also lived in Phoenix for a couple years. I would think based on the Gasser weight and planted feel it would be a great bike for the desert. But you could answer that better than me.

darn mud races sawed through my stock chain block, got the new red one, fits perfect, long bolts so doubled nutted the back of it, don't want to drop $65 on the trail someplace.

pipe guard has taken one hard drop on some rocks and saved the bacon, would have been a massive dent without it

ditched the twin wall bars, these feel WAY better to me.

Put a new front tire on it, washed it and realized my fork seals (both sides) are leaking badly. Looks like some fork service is over do.
