Default still looking for help on the stator

I've now ordered a replacement stator. However when it's turned up this morning it's considerably smaller than the oem part

I have 2 questions if anyone has any knowledge or is able to help.

1) with it being so much smaller will it still work? Clearly the gap to the fly wheel will have been greatly increased.

2) the wiring is completely different the new part has 2 yellow wires a blue wire and a black wire.

The oem broken stator has a yellow a white red/white and a black/red wire.

I've tried phoning emailing face booking and tweeting electrex world electrics but to no avail.

Quick question, what made you go with the aftermarket, price? The demension I think is going to be a big problem.

You could drive there in a couple of hours. That small stator will do absolutely nothing, the standard air gap is usually about .015"

They list the G147/RR58 combo for GasGas, but that's probably more output than what you need. If they specified 2K2 or 2K3 in their details you could match up parts better.

The G146 might be what you need as a replacement for the stock unit.

My original one was fried. 5 of the 8 coils were cooked. I've been looking for any replacement stator since Saturday.
Other than a brand new oem part from haven trail sport at 400 quid this was the only one I could find

I've been looking at the other stators on the electrex Web page then did a little more research the unit they have sent me is definitely the rm fitting.

However as I was comparing the upgraded l146 I checked out ebay for a 2007 ktm stator. This one *looks* identical to the oem one on my bike including the wire colours.

Does the gas gas share any parts with the ktm?

Please have a look at the eBay model this is the only place I've been able to get any decent info from

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...d=151063001931

The ktm one on the left has the same looking set up the same coloured wires .....

I'm no KTM expert but since KTM and GasGas use the 2K3 ignition, I'll bet the 2T stators are the same except for the connector on the end of the wires. You can easily change that. Your link says it's for a 4T, so I don't know what to say about fitment. Any chance you can contact Electrosport by phone and get info on which units share the same stator?

The ktm stator unit is pretty much across the range from 2000 onwards it's a 2k3 stator fits 2t and 4t

Electrex do make a coil for your bike as I had the exact same problem. They don't list it as a gas gas part so just email them to confirm. I sent mine back and paid about 30 quid extra for the bigger one.

Cheers for all the help. The new KTM Stator works perfectly. A lot cheaper than a gas gas part and much easier to find.

The KTM EXC 250 2T *** 2002 stator from kokusan 2k3 is ?113 from eBay with free p&p.

Happy days
