Default 2018 spring chart/calculation

Hello, Im New to the forum.

I have searched the forum, and the entirety of the internet for the last week, trying to find a spring dimensions and spring rate chart for the 2018 xc/ec300 but I have not had any luck.

What are people using to figure out their spring orders?

Best I've been able to come up with is to put the info into Racetech's site. They don't list GG so I entered 2018 yz250x thinking the kyb stuff should be close on rate at least. Unfortunately I can't find the dimensions of the GG springs to verify I'm getting the correct length.

can anyone point me in the right direction for resources on this?

I didn't find much info at the time but did use YZ250X front springs in my 18 GG. They were the same. If you contact Budd Matto at Matto cycles he has details and springs I'm sure.

Another resource would be JDP Suspension in OH. They do the NEPG Factory GG Suspension and have a ton of R&D on the 18 bikes.

Here is the KYB catalogue with every part for every bike they put their stuff on. It is very handy in crossing over parts and finding OEM rates and dimensions. http://www.technicaltouchusa.com/fil...compressed.pdf

Budd can hook you up with springs, as well as a steel nut for the spring stock is aluminum.

For the most part KYB uses 2 different length fork springs in the dual chamber SSS forks. Yamaha uses a longer spring in their (4 strokes 467mm) and a 454mm in the 2 stroke. The 2 stroke Yamaha spring is the same as the 2013 Italian Husky and I believe it is the same as the what's used in the new GasGas models. You can machine a new snap ring groove to use the longer spring which also helps to give a slightly more forgiving preload and SAG setting. You could also make a spacer to use the shorter spring in place of the longer spring.

As for the shock some companies are going to a different linkage rate and using a lighter spring than what would work on the older bikes with different linkage. Basically they put the stress on the linkage instead of the shock. The reason I'm bringing this up is to warn not to go off an older model bike chart or what works on a different brand until you verify that the linkage ratio is the same.

My experience is that if you don't have the correct springs and you're cranking down the preload in a light spring you will never get the ideal results.
